I have this, but does this have me?

Purpose of Campaign

The aim of this campaign is to remind people that even if they are struggling with something, they are not alone. So often, people forget what they have right in front of them and when confronted with a problem, they shy away from asking for help. I have this, but does this have me? seemed like the most fitting title because it means exactly what it says. You can either choose to let something get the best of you, or you can persevere, no matter the obstacle. Creating a safe space on the internet using these genres aims to help those who visit them and give them perspectives opposite of theirs.

Promotion

This was one of the most difficult parts of creating and distributing the genres. Promotion appears simple until you actually try to do it. There is a fine line between asking accounts with larger followings to promote your stuff for a project and to promote for profit on their end. In the beginning, reaching out to larger accounts on Twitter, Tumblr, and Instagram is intimidating, but after the first few accounts you get the hang of it. I was able to get two accounts on Twitter to retweet and promote my SoundCloud. The first was The Help Hotline with over 60k followers and the second was Retired Self Harm with 15.3k followers. The Help Hotline is essentially an account that promotes healthy thinking and more fact based things while the Retired Self Harm account is much more personal. Both accounts were a pleasure to work with. Having the support of such diverse narratives was beneficial to the poem and the campaign in general.
