Pop Culture Kryptonite

My Pop Culture weakness would have to be something to do with music, most likely new music in any genre by unknown bands. With unknown artists, it is always exciting when new music is released and when they are not well known, introducing new music to the scene is one of the best parts of listening to it. What draws me to these bands and artists the most is that their music is always real, most of the time raw too. Listening to something that has meaning makes me feel a real connection with the composer. You know the pop-ups that always come up on the side of your web browser? They are generated based on your web history, or web searches that fall within the same genre in which you have searched previously. That is where, a great deal of the time, I start to click around and become exposed to more and more types of music. Considering most of my searches are about bands or artists that fall under the “alternative” genre of music, the suggestions I often come across do as well. The difference is that the suggestions are just that: they suggest new music to me and persuade me to click and find out more about the certain group or individual.
