How is Project #1 going?

To be completely honest Project 1 is going smoothly, the only bump: actually choosing a topic. There are so many musical geniuses to choose from, not to mention the thousands of artifacts each person or group has/has created over the years. My best bet for Pop Culture Icon would probably be The 1975; they're an alternative rock group who grew their initial fame from a single entitled "Chocolate". Three artifacts I will most likely use in this project will be performances with the song "You Should be Loving Someone", merchandise they've made/sold, and speeches/certain discussions that lead singer Matt Healy has made/had and how they influence people. I think the three of these things are different enough from each other that they can show how diverse The 1975 is as a group. When it comes to organizing this paper, I will definitely use an outline; mainly just to jot down ideas, but nonetheless, an outline. The best part about this Project is having the freedom to choose whomever we prefer. In many classes, the subjects of projects are set in stone, here we are getting to show how our opinions differ and yet how they can all relate through rhetorical analysis. The biggest challenge with this first project is narrowing down the subjects I have to choose from. The first draft is due tomorrow, but the subject of mine and others' papers are subject to change, even within this short time span. Having this project has been fun so far and I can't wait to see who everyone chose.
