What's so special about the Internet Personalities I followed on Twitter?

As my ten internet personalities, I chose: Drake, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Barak Obama, Phosphorescent, Jamie Blackley, Liza Koshy, David Dobrik, Zoe Sugg, Ellen Degeneres, and The Classic Crime. Drake, Phosphorescent, and The Classic Crime are all musicians and their brands are made to reflect their music. The majority of their timelines consist of updates about tour, new music, and sometimes fan interactions. I would say that the Twitter accounts for these artists are certainly genuine because they are run by the artists themselves, not publicists. The audience can tell that these celebrities are being real and genuine because they use language and diction that are common amongst today’s youth; they appeal to our pathos and emotions by talking about what is happening in the world and things that are important. Ellen Degeneres and Barack Obama are both well-known people and have affected people in different ways. Obama was the President of the United States for the past 8 years, while Ellen was gifting millions of dollars to those that were in need. Obama’s twitter is run by him and he uses it to promote discussion. He uses the appeal to one’s logos to make an impact on how people interact with him and his tweets. Obama’s page is also seemingly genuine, whereas Ellen seems a bit too structured. The meaning behind Ms. Degeneres’ tweets seems to be steering people towards watching her show rather than staying in contact with her followers.

Furthermore, Jamie Blackley is an actor and part-time musician. He uses his twitter to interact with supporters and keep his people up to date with everything that he is up to in a given time. He is genuine in the fact that he puts opinions out there, whether or not people that follow him will agree with them. He uses pathos and logos appeals to make connections with his audience. Lin-Manuel Miranda is one of my favorite people that I follow. He works as a performer and composer most of the time, but has taken a break to spend time with his wife. Lin interacts with his audience every single day, appealing to both ethos and pathos to make the connection he has so strong. His account is definitely genuine and has never been fake as it is run by him and some of the time the discussions can get heated, something a publicist would not allow. Liza Koshy, David Dobrik, and Zoe Sugg are all social media influencers. Zoe, from YouTube, and Liza and David claiming their fame from vine all use their Twitter accounts to interact with their subscribers and supporters. They generally appeal to pathos by updating people about their lives. All of these social media stars’ accounts are run by them so that there is no confusion and no false statements made, therefore, making them raw and real. Liza and David portray themselves in a comedic manner while Zoe conveys a calmer, more toned down attitude for the Twittersphere.
